Eidse family pictures

It is so good when family gets together and especially when everyone is there.  We had our Eidse Thanksgiving supper the other night and because all the siblings were together, we decided that pictures were in order. (just like in my family, if you remember a previous post).
First picture is Mom and her kids.  Isn't that a good looking crew?
Next picture we added in the spouses.
It was also an evening where all of the great-grandchildren were in attendance.  Not all the grands were there but all 15 of the great-grands and boy was it a busy place.  The oldest one is 7-1/2 and the youngest is 1 month old.   I have posted 2 of the better pictures because how do you get 16 kids to sit still and look at the camera all at the same timeso if you can't see someones face on one picture, take a look at the other picture.  Maybe  that child decided to look at the camera that time.  I say 16 kids because Mom's youngest grandchild got in the picture too.  What a cute, busy, great bunch of kids,  what a lot of potential!

Another stocking finished!

I finished stocking #6 the other night.  It is always fun to get another one finished, and I only have 3 more to go till I have made one for each grandchild.  Hopefully I can get at least one more done before Christmas.

Tomatoes, tomatoes...............

...........and more tomatoes!!!  My garden is producing tomatoes like crazy this year.  I should have left it at 6 plants, but decided that wasn't quite enough.   Anyway, they are there, so I have to do something with them, and so I have been adding to my collection in the pantry.
So...  take all those tomatoes, add in some other produce from the garden, ( I am quite excited to actually get red and yellow peppers this year)
and some store bought items,......
and the end result is jars full of salsa, tomato juice, pizza sauce and spaghetti sauce.   It is a lot of work, but I quite like to be able to go to the pantry and get what I need instead of running to the grocery store.    Oh yeah!  Does anyone need any tomatoes?   I picked about 40 lbs yesterday.  I don't make a habit of weighing how much I pick, except that yesterday there were so many that out of curiosity, I decided to weigh them.  Yep, over 40 pounds of lovely, good sized , delicious tomatoes.   On the theme of weights, I also decided to weigh one of the bigger tomatoes and it came in at 15.5 ounces.

Back to School

Excitement has been mounting in the home across the road from us.  The countdown has been on and today it was finally here.  First day of School!  For the older one is was waiting to see friends again after the summer break and knowing she would see them every day now, plus there would be the challenge of learning more things, and a big library of books to read.  For the younger one, it was first day of Kindergarten and all kinds of new possibilities, and the chance to ride on the schoolbus, with her big sister.  I enjoy watching them get on the bus every morning, just like I used to watch my kids.  This morning I was there for the first morning pick-up, got to give them hugs before they headed off and took a few pictures.  It is so great to see them so excited, but they sure are growing up fast.
Aren't they cute!  School outfits sure have changed since I started school, must be about 50 years ago. I love their pretty sparlky clothes, with fluffy skirts, and those cute little lunchkits, and great backpacks.   Wonder what I would have chosen  had I had these same choices.   I am thinking I would have liked Jayda's style, although Hailey's looks pretty too, yet comfy and casual.
Getting on the bus, and then the adventure begins...............................
