Progress Report

Work on Shaun and Vicki's house continues as time allows. With the farming season slowing down somewhat, Kerry has more time to help again. Just after Thanksgiving, it was time to get the basement floor poured. It was a big job but was made easier by good help. Thanks to all who were there to lend a hand, you know who you are. The floor should be nice and warm with the layer of styrofoam insulation underneath and the heat pipe in the concrete.

Once the basement floor was done, it was time to get the poly on the ceiling and then the drywall. Kerry and Shaun did the job by themselves and were really pleased with the tools they
had bought to help them with this task. Here they are demonstrating for me just how well the drywall lift worked, and then showing how fast they could screw this sheet down with the automatic feed drywall gun. I WAS impressed, the right tools DO make the difference!

And once the ceiling was closed in, it was time to insulate and so this week, Kerry and Shaun spent a couple of days blowin insulation into the attic. A dusty job, but it had to be done, before winter sets in.

Thanksgiving pictures from the Funk gathering

Supper was good, the food was plentiful, and after everyone was full, the guys retired to the living room to visit and let the food digest. The kids headed outside to play tag on the bale pile, and then, when it was good and dark, they played hide and seek.
