Introducing Jayda

We are excited and happy to announce the safe arrival of Grand-daughter #2 .

Jayda Maecyn arrived on May 24, and weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz and measured 22 inches long, and she is beautiful! (of course) We are happy to finally get to meet her and start to spoil her too. She has an abundance of dark hair and though there are some resemblances to Hailey, I think she has her own look. Amber and Erik and Hailey are all doing fine and Hailey loves her little sister, and wants to hold her, and when she cries, she makes sure she does what she can to make her happy again, be it reading a book to her or even singing. Erik and Amber stoppped by last night on their way home from the hospital to pick up Hailey and so we could take some pictures. Jayda blissfully slept through it all. We brought them lunch today, and I got to hold her while everyone else ate, and later papa Kerry got his chance too, until she started fussing and letting us know that she was hungry too.

More cottage pictures

It was a gorgeous evening at the cottage last Friday and since Fishig Season didn't open till Saturday morning we decided to spend some time doing clean-up. After the hot tub was filled and heating and all the pumps set up and working we did some branch clean-up on the yard and made a bonfire to take care of some of it. Should have brought out the marshmallows. It was mild, and the lake was calm and there were NO MOSQUITOS!!

Erik, Amber and Hailey took advantage of the calm lake to take a cruise in the paddle boat.
Hailey enjoys being out in a boat and knows that she has to wear a life jacket to be out there. She also found her sand toys from last year and they were good entertainment and as much fun as new toys

.
Hailey in her colorful kerchief. She and Grammy Jo spent lots of time playing together and discovered that there are a lot of things that a doll blanket can be used for. In this picture she needed a hat so she got one, thanks to Grammy. It can also be used to decorate or as icing on a birthday cake . Who says that it is only good for wrapping up dolls?

Fishing Season Opens!

Hooray! It's fishing season again!
We had some time in between seeding so we, along with Erik and Amber and Hailey headed up to the cottage last Friday. We couldn't fish till Saturday so we spent Friday evening enjoying the calm and pleasant evening and got the hot tub filled and heating and got water hooked up and pumps running again after the winter. Saturday morning Erik and Kerry woke up early, filled their coffee mugs and headed out into the fog just as the sun was coming up, and fished. They spent a good part of the day fishing and more time on Sunday. They did some walleye fishing on Saturday evening and came home with a couple of nice ones that we fried up for Sunday breakfast. The northerns were biting well and we brought some home for Mom and Dad but the big ones eluded them. Even Amber got to go out a couple of times, and Hailey did once as well, but they thought they wouldn't give her a rod just yet. My pastime of choice is to stay back and read of keep Hailey entertained. I'd say a good time was had by all.

After the busy day was done, it was time for some alone time in her tent with a storybook.

Our Little Princess

Finally, I managed to post some pictures of Hailey in her princess dress thatGrammy Jo sewed especially for her. She wore as a flower girl for Auntie Raquel and Uncle Darcy's wedding. She looked very cute in it and loved wearing it. She even figured out early on how to lift it up for doing stairs and to avoid tripping. She handled it like a pro and even when the day was over, she didn't want to take it off. She called it her Cindrelly dress and she had cute little pink sequined and embroidered slippers to wear with it, and no, she didn't lose one.
