Christmas Stockings---FINISHED!!!

 When our first grandchild came along over 8 years ago, I decided to make each one a personalized Christmas stocking that would stay at our house, and get filled by Gramma and Papa every Christmas.  I was all caught up before the fire, but since then, I had to start over, and the grandkids kept coming.   One year I made 2 stockings, then last year I made 6 more and this year I finished up with 2 more.  Colby arrived for Christmas last year but he was too small to know that his stocking wasn't done yet.  This year he can look and see what is in his too. 

 Then almost 2 months ago, grandchild #10 arrived and so she had to have a stocking too.  I finished that one yesterday, but I think she will be too little to be impressed  this Christmas.  But I am done, it has been fun and not sure what project will fill up my evening hours now, but unless someone surprizes us with another baby, this was likely the last one I will make.      Now to find a place to hang 10 stockings........

 

Mudroom Project

We moved into the house over 3 years ago but still there were things that we still wanted to do, we just had to figure out just what is was we wanted and how we wanted to do it.  We knew right from the start that the mudroom should have some storage in it but it took till this fall till we had it figured out.  Then one day there was a 20 % off cabinets at Lowe's and so we got ourselves over there and came home with everything we needed for our mudroom project.  A day later Kerry got to work and before long the project was done.  He had never before installed cabinets or put on countertops but he did a fine job, and the finished project is better than we had imagined.   It looks soooo CLEANED UP !!   We love it and how it turned out, and won't be long till the drawers and shelves are filled.  There was enough standing around on the floor and on the table we had there that some of the filling up is well begun.  Another project done....wonder why we didn't get to it sooner?!  If we had known how nice it would be,  maybe we would have !!!

 

 

 

Belated Birthday Post

 We have our own little Minnie Mouse!!  Shae turned 3 back in September and we got to celebrate with her this year.   She was all about Minnie Mouse this time around and so she got a costume from Gramma and Papa and she looked quite cute in it.  She also had a Minnie Mouse cake decorated for her by her Mommy.   Shae is a special little girl, growing up so fast but still having lots of hugs for Gramma and enjoying the occasional snuggle.  She loves to sing and often is humming or singing as she plays, with familiar melodies but words of her own choosing.  She likes to play on her own at times but she sure likes to be part of the crowd of cousins too.  She is a little shy at times, but also very talkative at others.  She is a special, fun little one, and we love her lots, and are glad she lives closer now and we can see her often.
