Summer pictures

I have been very slow in posting pictures this summer so I thought it was time to catch up. This and the next bunch of posts are some of my favorites from the last couple of months. It has been a busy time and a challenging time but we are doing good. Enjoy! The flowers are looking good right now, so this is a collage of the colors on the yard.

Pictures of the garden. We have been enjoying the fruits of the garden already, and are waiting for more. The corn and tomatoes and pumpkins and cukes still have to bless us with their bounty. We have already enjoyed spinach, lettuce, lots of peas, onions , cabbage and potatoes.

The crops are in, sprayed and growing. They look good for the most part, but they are about a month behind schedule. We are hoping for a long fall, with a very late frost.

Madelyn

I am so sleepy, I think I'll just have a nap right here!

This looks like a fun book, but wait, what is my sister watching on TV?

Maddie is getting very mobile these days. Between her fast crawl to get to where she want to be, and then standing up to walk along furniture, and investigating all the things that grammy has on her end tables or other places. I think I need to so some more childproofing!

Norah

Enjoying the outdoors at the farm!

Hey, this is a good place to sit!

Checking out that new cousin of hers

Enjoying the doll crib, just like my mommy used to do.

Nolan

Our "little" Nolan is just growing and is 3 1/2 months old. He was quite happy to join us at the table at lunch time and be part of the group. This was his first in a highchair.

Gramma and Nolan

Papa and Nolan.

I think this is my favorite picture of him so far. Who can resist that smile?

Papa and the girls

Can you fix it Papa?

Oops, I guess I shoudl have said Papa and the grandkids. Kerry with Nolan and Norah.

Papa handing out chocolates , and everyone waiting patiently for their turn. He has a little routine worked out when he doles out the treats, and they all catch on pretty quickly. Maddie isn't old enough for chocolate yet but she is watching and learning the drill.

Papa gives fun rides!

cottage days

We have spent some time at the cottage and even had some sunny days where water time was enjoyable. There was time to swim, enjoy blankets in the shade, play on the shore and build sand castles and even try out the tubing behind the boat.

Hailey and papa fishing from the boat, no success this time though.

Norah is a little goof and she found one of her swimmers and wanted it on her head, and she was quite happy to run around with her "hat" on. It was even good to wear it while looking at books.

She also discovered the fun of carrying around the water jugs and placing them just where she wanted them. She was quite frustrated when they got filled and she realized she could no longer carry them around.

Hauling Grain

way back in June or early July, Kerry and Erik were emptying bins and hauling the wheat in to the elevator. The bins were about 5 miles from home and seeing it was one of those nice warm days we had this summer we decided it was picnic time for lunch instead of them coming home. I picked up Amber and the girls and we headed over there and set ourselves up in the shade of the semi for our picnic. It was a fun and chaotic time and we all got fed.

I love these pictures of the girls from that day, hope you enjoy them too.
