Last Saturday was another sunny gorgeous day so we decided to do some more exploring and see what else we could discover in Kentucky. First off we headed out to Sandy Hook, and of course the roads were winding and hilly and took us through rural areas and we saw lovely farms and small towns. In Sandy Hook we came across a cemetary and a statue of one of Kerry's favorite country singer and song-writer. Not quite sure if this is where Keith Whitley was buried, but he did come from this town.

We drove on from there and came to Carter Caves State Park and did a bit of exploring there. We saw a stream coming from what looked like a cave

and when we crossed and got up close we say a waterfall coming out of the rocks. It was totally amazing and beautiful, not made by human hands that's for sure.

After leaving there we headed to another area of the park and went for a short hike and found this natural bridge.

Did a bit of exploring there, and again were awed by the creation out there. So different than what we see at home.

We saw water pouring out of a hole in the mountain, to join a small stream down below.

We left the park and drove on and found some man made attractions. The covered bridge is now closed to traffic but we did walk over it. On our way back to camp, we found a place for ice cream, and enjoyed the sunshine while we enjoyed our treat. It looked like a fun place to eat supper too, but we just were not hungry for BBQ at that point, or even for froglegs, which we saw on the appetizer menu. And the last picture is just a fun one of me for all my grandkids who might be looking at this post. We continued back to camp through another state park , the road winding alongside Cave Run Lake.
