Trinity Texas

Well, we,ve been here for eleven days now with never a dull moment. We arrived at Trinity Pines Conference Center on December 30, on a very pleasant Texas afternoon. We came in earlier than expected but were shown to the MDS trailers in the RV park and decided to get one set up for ourselves and stay. It is a beautiful, pine-treed campground and peaceful. These pictures are of the campground and the trailer we are making home for the next 2 months.

This picture is looking up towards where we have our kitchen and bunkhouses (the green buildings are the ones we are using). The camp staff has been very helpful and accommodating of us and our group and making every effort to see that we have all we need. The first couple of days we were here the weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed having time to ourselves as we set up RV's for the long term staff and got ourselves familiar with the area of Trinity, Huntsville and Onalaska and Livingston in the other direction. Towards the end of the week some of our staff members started showing up, and the planning and preparation for the first week of work got underway. We did a lot of shopping to get the kitchen up and functional and filled with provisions for the cook, as well as working to get the office set up.

The job sites are quite a ways off and fairly spread out and consist of one new build and repairs on other homes, shingling and window repair, etc. We have been at work for three days now and good progress is being made. We have a very energetic bunch of volunteers here this week and so things are busy. More pictures will follow.
