Gingerbread House

On Tuesday, Hailey and I got together for an afternoon of Christmas crafting and what will hopefully become a tradition for us . I have always liked the idea of making gingerbread houses and I did do a couple with the older girls but never kept it up. This year I decided that Hailey was old enough to enjoy it and time to start a new tradition. Hope I can do my part and keep it going. Anyway, Hailey was very excited to come and help me and she did well, as long as she could keep licking icing off her fingers and popping candies into her mouth. We still had enough to put on the house but according to her mom and dad, she was pretty wired in the evening. Sorry! The house was all put together so all we had to do was add the icing and the candies and I think it turned out pretty nicely.

The finished product needed to be hugged for this picture!
The best part was obviously when Grandma let her lick the spoon and the icing bowl!

Before Hailey left for your house she made sure to tell me that when the house was all finished she would give it a hug ;)

What a special afternoon...in a few years there will be more than one grandchild old enough to help too!!

What a pretty granddaughter you have. I bet she is a blessing and a joy to have around. It is wonderful that you are starting to make these traditions with your grandkids. They will always remember this and cherish the time spent with Grandma.
