Quick Trip to the Maritimes

Two weeks ago we made a quick trip to the Maritime provinces. We went to attend an MDS meeting in New Brunswick and we decided to take a couple of extra days and do some exploring. We had never been to the east coast of Canada so we were excited to see what it was like. We really enjoyed out brief time there. We flew in to Halifax on Wednesday and flew home again on Monday, and the weekend was mostly taken up with meetings so we only had a couple of days to see as much as we could. We did a lot of driving and explored the countryside. We are more sightseers than tourists and so the fact that a lot of the tourist attractions were already closed for the season didn't bother us much. These pictures are from our travels in Nova Scotia and we really enjoyed the colors of the season. The leaf change was late and so we were able to feast our eyes on the reds and oranges and golds, colors like we don't get to see in Manitoba. We toured mostly in northern Nova Scotia, saw the Hopewell rocks, and area, got to see a bit of the Anapolis Valley on Monday, and also saw the Tidal Bore near Truro.
