Pictures from Monday Morning

It's Friday already but I have been wanting to post these pictures ever since I took them on Monday. We woke up to a beautiful , sunny summer morning and after breakfast and a walk, to check out the nearby crops, it was time to get to work. First on the agenda was to cut down an elm tree that was mostly dead and in the way. Kerry got to work and I stood by with the camera. My help was needed later when it was time for cleanup, in the meantime it was good for me to stay out of the way.
The flowers and pots are starting to show some color but they are not in their full season spendor yet. We are enjoying them anyway and here are a few shots of some of the colors around the house and yard. This past week of rain and warm temperatures have really got things growing and yesterday I picked my first small bowl full of strawberries and we enjoyed strawberries and ice cream for dessert. Ah, the yummy tastes of summer!
As I was waiting for the tree to come down I took some pictures from up on the dike and here is an overview of our yard as of Monday. By now things look a little different. The garden has grown a lot this week, and we have set up our "poor man's hot tub" and screen tent on the east side of the garden. We even got to enjoy it last night already.
It's been a busy week, and we are planning to head to the cottage for a couple of days to spend time with some of the extended family as well as some of our own kids, finish up some projects there and hopefully relax a bit too. Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!

Enjoy the time at the cabin. May it be peaceful and relaxing - and have some good Norah snuggles - she's good at those!
