Week 1

Monday morning early, the construction crew showed up and the actual building of the house got underway. It was not the greatest week weatherwise, but by Friday evening much had been accomplished. Monday----getting started on the foundation. The hole was pretty muddy but we had been pumping over the weekend, and with enough gravel, the work could get underway.

By Tuesday just before lunch, the concrete arrived and the foundation got poured. After that the weather deteriorated again, and got windy and rainy and the crew got to go home early, plus have Wednesday off.

Thursday they were back at it again, putting up the styrofoam forms for the basement walls.

By the end of Friday, the walls were up and the concrete ordered for Monday afternoon. Good progress I would say! and that is just the visible stuff. Kerry has been busy making arrangements for the plumbing, the main beam, ordering windows, and all kinds of other things that need to happen in order for everything to keep moving along.

Wow! So much progress already. Sabrina and I were already saying that when the house is completed, we'll have to make a trip out to Rosenort to come and see you and your new abode.
